De Tomaso
De Tomaso was founded in Modena, Italy, in 1959 by Argentine-born racing driver Alejandro de Tomaso. The automaker built its identity around mid-engine sports cars that combined striking Italian bodywork with high-output American V8 engines, primarily sourced from Ford. Its most famous model, the Pantera, debuted in 1970 and reached a broad international audience through a US distribution deal with Lincoln-Mercury dealers.
