Saleen S1

The launch specification for the S1 listed an approximately 42% front and 58% rear weight distribution.

In December 2017 Saleen quoted the S1 at about 2,685 pounds, or roughly 1,218 kg.

The S1 combined an aluminium structural tub with carbon-fibre body panels.

In the original S1 specification a six-speed manual was to be standard, with a paddle-shift automatic planned for later.

The 2017 launch specification quoted 450 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque for the S1 engine.

In the specification announced in December 2017, the S1 used a Saleen-designed turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine.

The S1 was designed as a two-seat sports car with a mid-mounted engine.

The Saleen 1, also known as the S1, made its public debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in late November 2017.

In 2021 Saleen 1 Cup race cars became eligible for the SRO GT America series after competing in the one-make Saleen Cup.

Saleen stated that the S1 was designed and engineered entirely by Steve Saleen and his team in California.
