Porsche 918 Spyder

The 918 Spyder uses active rear-axle steering to improve agility and stability.

The 918 Spyder’s combined hybrid-system output is 887 hp, or 652 kW.

The 918 Spyder uses two electric motors, with one associated with each axle.

The 918 Spyder’s combustion engine alone produces 608 hp.

The 918 Spyder’s mid-mounted naturally aspirated V8 displaces 4.6 litres and draws on Porsche racing experience.

In September 2013 the 918 Spyder lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:57, becoming the first road-legal production car under seven minutes.

Production ended after exactly the 918th car was built, matching the originally announced limit.

Production of the road-going 918 Spyder was limited to 918 cars.

Porsche showed the 918 Spyder concept at the Geneva motor show in March 2010.

Later in 2010 Porsche management approved development of a series-production 918 Spyder.
