Fabrizio Giugiaro revisits the Gallardo with the CAVËN Hommage 26

CAVËN Atelier, a newly founded studio, unveiled the Hommage 26 at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas on 31 October 2026. The car is a reworked Lamborghini Gallardo shaped by Fabrizio Giugiaro, who developed the original styling proposal for the model at Italdesign in the late 1990s. Production is planned at 25 cars.

The Hommage 26 is the first chapter of what CAVËN calls its Designer Series. The idea is to bring the original designer of a significant car back to their own work, so they can revisit it without the industrial and commercial constraints of the time. Giugiaro carried out the project through GFG Style, the company he founded with his father, Giorgetto Giugiaro.

Back to the L140 proposal

At the end of the 1990s, Lamborghini, by then owned by Audi, was developing a smaller sports car to sit below its V12 flagship. Italdesign submitted a styling proposal for the project, known internally as L140, with Fabrizio Giugiaro responsible for its development. Lamborghini's own design team under Luc Donckerwolke then revised the front, rear, side surfaces and many details before the Gallardo appeared at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show.

On the Hommage 26, the front end stays close to that original proposal, while the rear and parts of the interior are new. Only the roof, windscreen, side windows, door mirrors and mirror bases carry over from the donor car. Everything else is a new carbon-fibre body with pop-down headlights, active aerodynamic flaps and a redesigned tail that includes an opening window above the engine.

Manual V10

The mechanical changes follow the same approach. Italian specialist Italtecnica has reworked the Gallardo's naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V10, which now revs to 8,500rpm and is paired with a manual gearbox. Two versions are planned: the GT with 540hp and the Performance with 560hp. The chassis gains two-mode suspension with Comfort and Sport settings, upgraded brakes and 20in wheels. According to Supercars.net, the full technical specification may still change as prototype development continues.

Each car is built from a first-generation Gallardo, either supplied by its future owner or sourced by CAVËN Atelier. Prices start at €900,000, excluding taxes and the donor car. CURATED will represent the company in the United States. According to CAVËN, another Designer Series project is expected in 2027.
