Hennessey
Hennessey Performance Engineering was founded in 1991 by John Hennessey in Sealy, Texas. The company began as an aftermarket performance shop specializing in high-horsepower modifications for sports cars, muscle cars, and trucks, gaining early prominence through its heavily modified Dodge Vipers and Ford GTs.
In 2010, Hennessey transitioned into low-volume vehicle manufacturing with the Venom GT, a twin-turbo V8 hypercar built on a modified Lotus chassis that reached a top speed of 270.49 mph at the Kennedy Space Center in 2014. To produce standalone custom models, the company established Hennessey Special Vehicles, launching the Venom F5. Built around an in-house carbon-fiber tub and a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing 1,817 horsepower, the Venom F5 was engineered specifically to target speeds exceeding 300 mph.
Alongside its hypercar development, Hennessey continues to operate its core vehicle modification business, producing high-output trucks and muscle cars such as the VelociRaptor series.
