Facts
Droptail’s 6.6-litre twin-turbo V12 gained an additional 30 bhp and produces 840 Nm, the first engine-power increase for a Rolls-Royce Coachbuild project.
Droptail’s rear quarter panels are the largest carbon-fibre panels ever created for a Rolls-Royce motor car.
Droptail uses a dedicated rigid monocoque made from aluminium, steel and carbon fibre rather than the marque’s standard architecture.
Droptail’s removable hardtop is made from carbon fibre and incorporates electrochromic glass that controls how much light enters the cabin.
Droptail’s aft deck is aerodynamically functional and generates downforce for high-speed stability; its form was refined over two years and 20 iterations.
Rolls-Royce planned a total of four individual Droptail commissions, each created for a specific client.
Droptail is the first roadster body style in Rolls-Royce’s modern history.
Droptail marked the first time in Rolls-Royce history that the Pantheon grille’s vertical vanes were deliberately kinked near the top.
Droptail is about 5.3 m long and 2 m wide, proportions intended to recall early Rolls-Royce roadsters.
Droptail breaks with the four-seat convention of modern Rolls-Royces and was designed as a strict two-seater.
