Rolls-Royce Cullinan Yachting brings four yacht-inspired Private Commissions

Rolls-Royce has revealed Cullinan Yachting, a set of four Private Commissions inspired by contemporary yachting. Named North, South, East and West, each car is a one-off specification with its own exterior finish and details built around one of the four cardinal directions.

The most distinctive cabin feature is a hand-painted artwork representing the wake of a tender travelling towards a yacht at anchor. The direction of the composition changes in each car to match its name. Rolls-Royce says the process of applying pigment to wet lacquer and shaping the wave pattern by hand required two months of experimentation.

Open-pore teak, a material closely associated with yacht decks, is used throughout the interior. The rear waterfall section carries a marquetry compass motif assembled from more than 40 individual pieces of sycamore, teak, ash and Black Bolivar veneer. Each Starlight Headliner also receives a unique pattern derived from maps of prevailing winds over the Mediterranean.

The four cars are separated visually by their exterior colours: North uses Crystal over Light Blue, South Crystal over Arabian Blue IV, East Dark Silk Teal and West Sapphire Gunmetal. Cullinan Yachting does not introduce a new powertrain or chassis specification. Its significance lies in the depth of the Bespoke work, with Rolls-Royce creating four related cars that share a theme without turning it into a repeatable production package.
