Porsche agrees sale of Bugatti Rimac stakes to HOF Capital-led consortium

Porsche signed agreements on April 24 to sell its holdings in Bugatti Rimac and Rimac Group to a consortium led by New York investment firm HOF Capital. The deal covers Porsche's entire 45 percent stake in Bugatti Rimac and its 20.6 percent holding in Rimac Group.

The sale was not complete at the time of the announcement. Closing remained subject to customary conditions, including regulatory approvals, and was expected before the end of 2026. The parties kept the financial terms confidential.

Bugatti Rimac was established in 2021 as a joint venture between Rimac Group and Porsche. Before the announced transaction, Rimac Group owned 55 percent of the company and Porsche held the remaining 45 percent. The acquiring group includes HOF Capital, BlueFive Capital as its largest investor and other institutional investors from the United States and Europe.

Once the transaction closes, Rimac Group is set to take control of Bugatti Rimac. HOF Capital is also due to become the largest shareholder in Rimac Group alongside founder Mate Rimac. Porsche framed the exit as part of a decision to focus capital on its core business.

The timing matters because this announcement concerns the signed sale agreement and proposed ownership change, not the later completion of the transaction. On April 24, the regulatory process was still outstanding.
