Nissan Z Heritage Edition in Midnight Purple is limited to 10 cars

Nissan Australia has announced the Z Heritage Edition, a tiny local-market run limited to just 10 cars. Every example will be finished in Midnight Purple, a colour far more closely associated with high-performance generations of the GT-R.

The special edition pairs the purple paint with bronze 19-inch RAYS forged-alloy wheels. Mechanically, it remains the current Nissan Z: a rear-wheel-drive sports car powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 producing 298 kW and 475 Nm. Buyers can choose a six-speed manual with an Exedy clutch or a nine-speed automatic transmission.

This is not a new performance derivative. The point of the Heritage Edition is the crossover between two important strands of Nissan's sporting history. The Z lineage began with the 240Z in 1969, while Midnight Purple became one of the most recognisable colours attached to the GT-R. For the Australian market, Nissan is now combining those identities in an exceptionally small factory series.

The launch also has a deliberately local character. Nissan presented the car to members of Australia's Z-owner community ahead of its market arrival, and all 10 examples are reserved for Australian buyers. At that volume, the Heritage Edition will be considerably rarer than most modern special-edition Z models.
