A six-speed manual Porsche 911 GT3 has completed the full 20.832-kilometre Nürburgring Nordschleife in 6:56.294. Porsche describes the run as a production-car record for a manual transmission, with the timing conducted under notarial supervision.
Factory driver Jörg Bergmeister was behind the wheel. The car was fitted with the Weissach Package and road-legal Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres. Porsche compared the result with a previous benchmark of 7:01.300 on the shorter 20.6-kilometre configuration, equivalent to roughly 7:05.8 over the full lap.
The GT3 retains its naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six and is available with either PDK or a manual gearbox. Porsche itself acknowledged that the dual-clutch transmission would probably have been several seconds quicker, but the point of this attempt was specifically to measure the three-pedal car.
That distinction matters because modern Nordschleife records increasingly belong to cars using extremely fast dual-clutch gearboxes or electrified powertrains. By treating the manual GT3 as its own category, Porsche demonstrated that a traditional driver-gearbox-engine layout can still run comfortably below seven minutes around the full Nordschleife.
