Gunther Werks Brundle Edition Turbo limited to five cars

Gunther Werks has revealed the Brundle Edition Turbo, a five-car reinterpretation of the Porsche 911 generation 993 developed with former Formula 1 driver Martin Brundle and his daughter, designer Charlie Brundle. It is more than a tribute livery: the family has contributed to both the way the car looks and how it drives. The car is due to make its public debut at the Concours at Wynn Las Vegas, running from October 29 to November 1, 2026.

Underneath is the California company's Gunther Werks Turbo, a heavily re-engineered, air-cooled 993-based 911. Its twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter flat-six is quoted at up to 860 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual transmission drives the rear wheels. Those figures put the car well beyond the performance of the original production 993 Turbo, while retaining an engine layout and driver-operated gearbox closely associated with that era of Porsche.

There is substantial engineering beneath the distinctive paint. Gunther Werks specifies double-wishbone suspension, Brembo CCMR carbon-ceramic brakes and aerodynamic revisions including an adjustable rear wing. Martin Brundle contributed to the Sport and Track chassis calibrations, bringing experience from a racing career that included the 1988 World Sportscar Championship and victory at the 1990 24 Hours of Le Mans. His role gives this edition a connection to driving development rather than simply racing memorabilia.

Charlie Brundle, whose design background includes McLaren Automotive, Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover, took inspiration from her father's racing helmet for the hand-painted two-tone pearl finish. The same colors and personal details carry into the cabin. The headrests bear an MB monogram, the dashboard incorporates one of Martin's observations about the driver's importance, and bespoke trim distinguishes the car from the regular Gunther Werks Turbo. Each buyer is also promised a color-matched Bell HP77 helmet signed by Martin.

No price has been announced for the Brundle Edition Turbo. Its production cap of five is confirmed, however, making it an unusually small series even by the standards of contemporary 911 restomods. The combination of bespoke styling and direct chassis input from the namesake is the more interesting distinction.
