Gordon Murray Automotive T.50 chassis 009 has sold for $8.035 million at a special Broad Arrow auction held during the California Mille. Broad Arrow describes the result as a new world auction record for the model.
The sale took place on the evening of April 21 in Paso Robles, California, and was the first public auction of a T.50 in North America. The 2025 car is one of 100 road-going examples, is finished in bespoke Reef Red and had covered fewer than 30 delivery miles when offered.
Its naturally aspirated 3.9-litre Cosworth GMA V12 produces 661 hp at 11,000 rpm and has a 12,100 rpm maximum engine speed. Power goes through a six-speed manual transmission, while dry weight is below 1,000 kg. The T.50's defining technical feature is its fan-assisted active aerodynamics.
The $8.035 million figure is notable because the T.50 is still a very young collector car and most examples remain with their original owners. The California Mille sale therefore provides one of the first strong public market references for Gordon Murray Automotive's flagship road car.
A portion of the proceeds is being directed to the California Highway Patrol 11-99 Foundation and McPherson College's Automotive Restoration Program.
