Ferrari Amalfi Spider debuts with 640 CV V8 and a fabric roof

Ferrari has unveiled the Amalfi Spider, the open-top version of its front-mid-engined 2+ grand tourer. It retains the 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 rated at 640 CV and adds a five-layer fabric roof designed to provide acoustic and thermal insulation comparable with a retractable hard top.

The roof opens or closes in 13.5 seconds and can be operated while the car is moving at up to 60 km/h. Ferrari has also retained the active rear spoiler and the aerodynamic solutions developed for the coupé. The latest F154-family V8 produces 760 Nm and is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Inside, the Amalfi Spider keeps the dual-cockpit layout for driver and passenger, while bringing back physical controls on the steering wheel, including Ferrari's engine-start button. The digital interface is split across a 15.6-inch instrument display, 10.25-inch central screen and 8.8-inch passenger display. An integrated wind deflector rises from the rear-seat backrest to reduce turbulence with the roof lowered.

First deliveries are expected at the beginning of 2027. ANSA reports a starting price of €270,000 in Italy. The Spider therefore does more than remove the roof from the Amalfi coupé: Ferrari has kept the full 2+ layout and V8 performance while using a fabric top to define the open version of its latest front-engined grand tourer.
