Ferrari has unveiled the 849 Testarossa, a new plug-in hybrid berlinetta replacing the SF90 Stradale. The model revives the historic Testarossa name, but technically it evolves the SF90 formula: a mid-rear twin-turbo V8 works with three electric motors and an all-wheel-drive hybrid system.
Combined output is 1,050 cv, 50 more than the outgoing car. The 3,990 cc V8 alone produces 830 cv and 842 Nm. A 7.45 kWh battery gives a quoted electric range of up to 25 km. Ferrari claims a top speed above 330 km/h and 0-100 km/h in less than 2.3 seconds.
The changes extend beyond the powertrain. Ferrari has fitted a redesigned active rear spoiler, aerodynamic solutions informed by racing and a new generation of vehicle-dynamics software. Its FIVE estimator calculates key vehicle states in real time, while ABS Evo is intended to use available grip more precisely under braking.
Despite the revived name, the 849 Testarossa is not a retro-styled nostalgia model. It is the direct successor to Ferrari's technology flagship, adding power and deeper electronic integration while retaining the hybrid V8 architecture introduced by the SF90.
