Gooding Christie’s has announced that it will offer a 2024 Ferrari 499P Modificata at its Geneva auction on 8 November. The house describes this as the first example of Ferrari's customer-only track prototype derivative to appear at public auction. Its estimate is in excess of CHF 7.5 million.
The consigned car is chassis 20, retaining its original red livery. According to Gooding Christie’s, it has not been driven beyond its initial factory shakedown and is being offered by its original owner. It is therefore quite different from a retired factory race car that has completed a season of competition.
More power than the racing 499P
Ferrari based the Modificata on the 499P prototype that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2023, 2024 and 2025. The customer track version is not subject to the same FIA World Endurance Championship Hypercar restrictions, and it is not intended to compete in that series.
Its powertrain uses a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 with an electric motor driving the front axle. Gooding Christie’s quotes approximately 707 PS of combined output, rising to a maximum of 870 PS when the temporary Push to Pass function is activated. The electric motor itself is rated at 272 PS. Bespoke Pirelli tyres, recalibrated suspension and revised control maps further distinguish the Modificata from the racing machine.
The new owner will also gain access to Ferrari's Sport Prototipi Clienti programme. Ferrari organises dedicated circuit sessions and provides maintenance, logistics and technical support to customers running these unusually complex track cars. Programme access does not make the machine eligible for professional championship competition.
The auction takes place at the Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues, with a preview scheduled from 6 to 8 November. The figure above CHF 7.5 million is the auction house's estimate. A definitive market result will only emerge when the car is sold.
