Bugatti has completed production of the W16 Mistral. The final car left the Molsheim atelier in a two-tone Pearl and Sparkle finish, closing both the roadster's limited run and the road-going chapter of the 16-cylinder engine that began with the Veyron.
The Mistral was unveiled in 2022 as Bugatti's final road car powered by the quad-turbo W16. Production was capped at 99 examples, and the entire allocation had already been sold before the model's public debut. Series production began in early 2025.
The last example combines Magnolia upholstery with Grey Carbon Matt trim. Ettore Bugatti's signature is embroidered into the headrests and appears again on the door sills and engine-cover trim. A dedication plaque carries a Mistral silhouette alongside the phrase "The last of its kind."
The model also ended its career with a significant performance milestone. In November 2024, the one-off W16 Mistral World Record Car reached 453.91 km/h at the Papenburg proving ground with Andy Wallace driving. Bugatti described the run as a production open-top speed record.
Production ended only days after Bugatti inaugurated La Manufacture, the new Molsheim facility intended to house Tourbillon production. The successor does not continue the W16 concept: Bugatti is moving to a naturally aspirated V16 with hybrid assistance. The final Mistral therefore closes more than a 99-car programme. It ends the road-going engine family that defined Bugatti's modern era through the Veyron, Chiron and their derivatives.
